Fugitive Nazi held in India.
A Former Top Nazi colonel was arrested on Saturday( june -28,2008 ) from the khanapur Forest area in karnataka and Goa border in INDIA. Col Johann Bach, a high-ranking office in Hitler’s elite Waffen SS(Schutzstaffel), was absconding for more than 50 years . He had moved into Calangute in Goa a few months back and had settled down under a fake identity. But the 88years old Batch activities in Calangute betrayed him and soon the intelligence Wing of Peru Narkp, the Berlin based German chancellor’s Core was on trail.
The German sleuths, assisted by Indian intelligence men, managed to zero in on Bach on Friday morning in Bardesh region of Goa. Bach tried to give them a slip.
But the German sleuths finally managed to nad Bach after a 36-hours chase in the Khanapur forests on Saturday. Colonel Bach belonged to Waffen SS, The armed wing of SS as Schutzataffel was known.
SS was Hitler’s army of Nazi Stormtroopers carved out of those who personal personally believed in Nazi ideology and would leave no stone unturned to achieve their end.
Incidentally, Bach’s deeds were glossed over at the Nuremberg trials.
Bach was under observation in his Goan hide out for over six months now. Perus Narkp was alerted by a tip-off that an old foreigner was trying to sell an antique, priceless 18th century piano.
A similar piano had been reported missing from an East Berlin museum after World War II.
Bach was born in Eisenach in 1920 to Ambrosius Bach

R Sri kumar, Director General of Police, was caught unawares about the arrest of the top Nazi military officer.
“We have only Read in Deccan Herald about it. We could not confirm whether he (Johann Bach) has been arrested. I even spoke to the belgaum Superintendent of police But he too has no information. We are trying to collect information about it.” he said.
One of the Top stories in Deccan Herald on Sunday Was that the Nazi concentration , Who along with other Nazi officers was responsible for killing thousands of jews at the Marsha Tikash Whanaab concentration camp in East Berlin was arrested on Goa-Karnataka border.
Goa Cops unaware
The Goa Police said on suday that they had absolutley no information about the arrest of a nazi war criminal.
“We have no official confirmation that such an arrest took place, and frankly we know nothing about this,” Inspector General of Police Kishan kumar told Deccan Herald.
There’s been no confirmation of these reports from any Indian intelligence wing, and media offices have been left wondering if these claims are nothing more then a cleverly planted hoax
